We are pleased to announce that Lauren Byrne joined Hovey Williams LLP as an Associate Attorney in 2021. She concentrates her practice on trademark rights, copyright law, and intellectual property transactions. Her expertise focuses on a full range of trademark transactions, including trademark clearance searches, trademark application prosecution, assignments, and renewals, to enforcing and defending trademark rights from infringement.

She was awarded her J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2014 where she was an Associate Editor of the Michigan State Law Review and practiced under a Limited Trademark Attorney License through the USPTO Law School Clinic Certification Pilot Program. She earned her B.A., from the University of Kansas in 2010 with Highest distinction (top 3% of class), with honors and was inducted as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Prior to joining Hovey Williams, Lauren worked at Thomson Reuters Practical Law and at Barber Emerson, L.C. She was named as a Rising Star of the Kansas Bar Association in 2019.
